Bryan Robson has told the official site today that there is a meeting set for Monday between him, Koumas and the players` agent. Robson hopes to settle the differences between him and Koumas before the start of the season and he hopes to have the midfielder on board for the season ahead.

Koumas spent last season on loan at Cardiff City and he was always expected to move to Ninian Park at the end of the season, but the Welsh side have struggled to agree a fee with Albion and it is thought that the club would struggle to pay the midfielder a five-figure salary over 4-years.

The return of Koumas to the Baggies starting eleven would be greeted with a mixed response from Baggies fans. A number of fans are disappointed with the way that Koumas behaved during the first few months of Robson`s reign. They believe that the midfielder was disrespectful to the manager when offered the chance to earn himself a place in the team and that he has had one chance to many.

A number of Baggies fans though would love to see him back in the blue and white of Albion this season. There is no doubting the ability that Koumas has but it`s the way he applies his skills that have led to the frustration of certain fans. If Koumas is left to play the way he wants to play then he will be a major asset to us.

I would love to see the midfielder back in the stripes more than anyone, he is the only player in our squad who can hit the target from set-pieces and he is good with either foot. He would be a fantastic player for us if him and Robson can kiss and make up.

Robson told reporters, “We`ll be touching base with Jason on Monday.

“I`ve got talks planned with him and his agent.

“Cardiff haven`t made an offer which is acceptable to this football club so Jason remains a West Brom player.

“He`s contracted to us and he showed with Cardiff, by scoring 12 goals for them in this division last season what he can do.

“As long as we can resolve things, Jason could have a big part to play for the club.”

The sudden u-turn by player and manager has reportedly got something to do with Koumas` international team-mate John Hartson. Hartson joined the club two-weeks ago from Celtic and has apparently had talks with Koumas and Robson and told them that he wants Koumas to be part of things, if things can be resolved.

It remains to be seen whether Robson can resolve his issues with Koumas and whether the midfielder would like to play for Robson and the Baggies again.

I hope that all can be forgiven enabling us to take back one of the most naturally talented footballers in this division, on his day Koumas can be a match-winner and I would rather see him in our side than anyone else`s.
