It’s being reported that although Salomon Kalou has praised the Baggies, he likes it at Lille and Anderlecht have an eye on Claudio Yacob.

Both stories today come from the Birmingham Mail, so I’ll start with Kalou.

We have been linked with him recently, and the paper carry the following quotes from him from French media.

‘There is some interest in my in England but, to be honest, I am enjoying my time at Lille as much as I can. However, it’s not my choice. West Brom are a very good club, with good players. The Premier League is attractive but I have a contract here.’

To be honest you can read that either way can’t you, it’s hardly definitive in any direction – let alone a potential move to us – it’s just player speak for ‘clubs have to make the move first and then I’ll see.’

The Mail also have a line sayng that Ukrainian press are linking us with Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk midfielder Yevhen Konoplyanka.

The other story suggests that Anderlecht were impressed by Yacob’s performances last season and reports in Argentina suggest they are very keen on a deal for the 25 year old. Sources close to the club are used as justification.

He’s a key part of Clarke’s plans so it would take some fee, but also then, would Yacob pass up more Premiership football after just beginning to establish himself?
