West Brom have upped their offer as they look to win the race to sign attacker Eberechi Eze from QPR, The Times journalist Duncan Castles has claimed.
It was reported earlier this week that the Baggies had had an offer for Eze – that would have seen them pay the cost of the transfer over four years – accepted by QPR.
However, it is thought that Eze prefers the prospect of staying in London, and as such would favour a move to Crystal Palace, who are also reported to have had a bid accepted for the attacker.
But it seems West Brom are not going to give up on their hopes of signing Eze without a fight, with Castle’s latest update now suggesting the Baggies have upped their offer again.
It is thought that West Brom have now offered £18.2million for Eze, plus £3million in potential add-ons, and a significant sell-on fee on any future sale of the player.
That means that the Baggies’ bid is better than that currently offered by Palace, but it has still been suggested that Eze’s advisors are telling the player to aim for a move to Selhurst Park.

It is good to see that West Brom are continuing to compete for Eze’s signature here, highlighting there intent, persistence and willingness to spend in the market this summer.
However, you do feel that with a small budget available to Slaven Bilic this summer, they do have to be careful not to go too far in their pursuit of a player who is as yet untested in the Premier League.
There are of course other areas of their squad that need addressing this summer, and they must be careful not to price themselves out of a move there, in their pursuit of Eze.
