“It’s A Nightmare At Times” – Tony Brown Hails West Brom Duo Following Leeds Effort

|

With West Bromwich Albion picking up a much needed and confidence-boosting victory over Leeds United last weekend at The Hawthorns, there was certainly plenty of praise to throw around following the full-time whistle.

Goals from Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle led to plenty of players receiving their plaudits on social media and head coach Darren Moore also came in for huge applause for the reaction from the side after recent disappointments in the Championship campaign.

Speaking to Radio WM to give his post-game reaction, Brown was full of praise for two players in particular for their individual showings and how they helped run the game in our favour – despite Leeds dominating possession.

“You don’t know what you’re going to get (Phillips). Those two, Phillips and Harvey Barnes, they were the ones that had the pace and the initiative to go and break at Leeds every opportunity. If you’re a defender and you’ve got people running at you, it’s a nightmare at times.”

Phillips have proven key to us at points this year and we’ve definitely missed him when he’s been out, and on-loan Harvey Barnes importance is clear for everyone to see, so it’s no surprise to see them both being picked out here but plenty of others deserved the praise they came in for as well.
