Roy Hodgson has said that he saw plenty of promise from Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long’s first proper performance alongside each other against Norwich.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said of the duo.

‘I saw a lot of promise and potential from them as a partnership. For 70 minutes they were very, very good and looked dangerous. The positive is their first game together has resulted in a victory and one of them has scored a goal.’

Hodgson adds that with both players not 100%, that in itself bodes well for the future and he’d expect when fully fit and fully on form, that the midplaced passes and at times, lack of understanding, will rectify itself and then they will both be a force to be reckoned with.
