Roy Hodgson has said he was impressed with Owen Hargreaves when the two met over a potential move to The Hawthorns.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson said.

‘Discussions are on going, I have spoken to him and he was very impressive.’

Hodgson adds that people will need to speak to Dan Ashworth in order to get details of suggested contract terms, his discussions with Hargreaves were purely football related.

‘My discussions were purely about football and the way we play, his potential role if he were to join us, and of course a lot of talk about the work he has done to get himself back into a situation where he’s capable of playing again.’

It’s sounding promising that given we’ve been in the hunt for him since the beginning so to speak, that a deal can be agreed. He’d certainly help improve us if we can keep him fit.
