Roy Hodgson has backed Peter Odemwingie and Chris Brunt to score from the spot in the next chance they get, despite both players missing their attempts.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson backed both players to come good again from the spot, because we need to capitalise more on such chances in the league.
‘We have had a bad penalty season so far, it’s not a good record. It’s something that we badly need to address because penalties can really be gilt edged goal opportunities. Neither Peter or Chris were terribly pleased with their last penalties but I would still back them both to take another one. I would back either of them to score next time out.’
