On Sky

Albion take on third placed Liverpool in Sky’s evening game on Saturday hoping that they catch the Reds on an off day.

Albion have yet to score against Liverpool in the Premiership and are currently 17-0 down on aggregate in five games against the Reds.

Albion need a performance and a result sometime soon and what better way to send a message to your rivals than a shock result against one of the big boys. Impressive perfomances and close results against three of the top four in the league, can we pull off a shock?

Why not, we’re not expected to get anything from the game but recent performances have improved and it’s just a matter of time before we get a result we deserve.

We have to attack Liverpool and not let them settle, we’re the home team so let’s take the game to them.

Come on Albion show us you still want to stay in this league. It’s going to be tough but these are games you want to be part of.

Vital Quotes:

Liverpool striker Peter Crouch says, ‘It will be difficult on Saturday against West Brom as I know from personal experience last season with Southampton that when a team is down at the bottom they fight for every ball and every point they can get.’

Albion Team News:

Bryan Robson nearly has a fully fit squad to choose from as he welcomes back Joe Kamara from a hamstring injury that kept him out of Monday nights defeat to Spurs.

Zoltan Gera continues his comeback and will feature after appearing for ten minutes at White Hart Lane.

The only absentees are Thomas Gaardsoe who has now been ruled out for the season with an ongoing groin injury and Chris Kirkland who has returned to Liverpool with a broken finger.

Nathan Ellington will be hoping to keep his starting place after running himself into the ground Monday night. He knows that Kevin Campbell is waiting in the wings if Robson wants to try something different.

Player to watch: Joe Kamara

Glad to see him back in the squad, the most direct threat we have and has pace to burn, let’s hope the couple of weeks he has had off have done him good and helped him practice his shooting.

Liverpool Team News:

Liverpool will be without captain Steven Gerrard who is suspended after his red card against Everton last week. He will be replaced by Dietmar Hammann in the midfield.

It’s a toss-up for who starts in attack with Peter Crouch, Fernando Morientes, Robbie Fowler and Djibril Cisse all scoring goals.

Player to watch: Harry Kewell

Scored an impressive goal last week at Everton and looking like he is getting back to his best. Will be a threat if Albion back off him.

Match Facts & Stats

Liverpool have won five out of five games against Albion in the Premier League.

In Albion’s first promotion season the Baggies lost 2-0 at Anfield and 6-0 at The Hawthorns.

Last season we lost 3-0 at Anfield and 5-0 at The Hawthorns.

This season we went down 1-0 at Anfield thanks to Peter Crouch’s first-half header. Baggies keeper Tomasz Kuszczak had an inspired afternoon.

Match Prediction:

Anything less than four goals would be nice, I have a feeling it is going to be a tight and close game with the odd goal winning it, hopefully to the Baggies.
