Steve Clarke has said we were more than value for money in tonight’s win over Liverpool.
Speaking to wba.co.uk following the game, Clarke said we definitely deserved the win tonight and it was of course a special return to Anfield for him given his history there.
‘I’m delighted for the lads. They’ve given me everything. You can never question the commitment of the players and to me that’s really important. We were aggressive in our pressure and tried to do the right things from the start. To come here and get that result, with the performance as well, I don’t think you can say we were lucky because we weren’t. We played well in the game and I think we deserved to get three points.’
Clarke also added that he thought the penalty kick was harsh so he was doubly pleased Foster saved it and he also said it was Foster’s best performance of the season.
