Steve Clarke has said he was proud of the players for fighting back in the derby game, as they had let the fans down in the first half.

Speaking to wba.co.uk after the dramatic 2-2 draw, Clarke said.

‘I’m not sure relief was the emotion. In the first half the emotion was disappointment at the way we played. We let ourselves down and as a consequence let the supporters down. In the second half I felt a little bit of pride at the way we played. We were much better, we were much more like what I expect from my team.’

Steve Clarke also took time out following the game to praise the performance of Peter Odemwingie, restating, that despite all the rumours, he’s going nowhere this window.

‘I thought Peter was outstanding tonight. For me he was man of the match. Nobody is going out in January. We don’t need to sell, the quicker we get to February 1 the better.’

Most notably he added.

‘No one is coming in and no one is going out.’
