Centre-half Takes Next Step In Desire To Leave West Brom

|

It hasn’t only been Ben Foster who has thrown the proverbial toys out of the pram at The Hawthorns, centre-half Craig Dawson also reportedly refused to go on our pre-season training camp and opened himself up to disciplinary action.

With Burnley heavily linked for the 28-year-old, but their approaches being rebuffed so far as we look to maximise any sales, there’s also supposed interest from West Ham United. Dawson only has 12 months left on his existing deal and the story from his side is that the club have frustrated him with such a hard-line stance being taken on his future.

Here’s a hint, you signed a contract honour it instead of wibbling and playing poor me!

Sky Sports have reported that he has now taken the next step in such a situation and formally given the club a written transfer request.

Sky don’t actually state whether we’ve even rejected his official request in their coverage, they simply say that head coach Darren Moore sees him as a crucial part of the squad. We’ll have to see if such a request has in fact gone in, but if he doesn’t want to be here we don’t want to risk disruption in the camp as this will be a difficult year ahead – especially given the other players we could lose with relegation release clauses kicking in.
