Carson Captaincy Pressure

Scott Carson has said that he believes having the pressure of being captain taken off his shoulders is one of the main reasons why he has rediscovered his form.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Carson admits that leading the side was a great honour, but he’s happy for Brunt to remain captain so he can focus on his own game.

‘I think when Brunty kept the captain’s armband it did take a bit of pressure off me. I have enjoyed being captain but I’m not going to be knocking on the gaffer’s door and saying I want the armband back. I’m happy taking a step back and keeping out of the limelight.’

Carson also says he’s looking forward to facing off against Liverpool and in many ways his England call up will aide us because he now knows what to expect from Andy Carroll, and he knows the Baggies will have to replicate the form and performance they showed against Arsenal if we are going to do ourselves justice and get a decent result tomorrow.
