WEST Bromwich Albion face an FA Cup fourth round trip to Peterborough United, if they win their third-round replay against Charlton Athletic next week.
Albion have already met and defeated Posh in one competition this season, the League Cup, when the Baggies won a second-round tie at London Road 2-0 courtesy of goals from Zoltan Gera and Nathan Ellington back in August.
But first, Albion have to negotiate the replay against the Addicks.
The portents are good. Back in the 1930/31, when Albion achieved the unique double of winning the FA Cup and promotion to the top flight, the Baggies beat Charlton in the third round, on that occasion after two replays.
Albion finally achieved victory with a 3-1 triumph at Villa Park after drawing 2-2 at The Hawthorns and 1-1 at The Valley. Both clubs were in the old Second Division that season.
