Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu will return to training tomorrow and could give Roy Hodgson a huge selection boost ahead of Monday’s clash against Stoke.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Roy Hodgson said.
‘Youssouf is progressing very well. He hasn’t done a session with the rest of the players yet. The medical staff want to be 100% certain before they throw him into a practice situation. But they are promising me that by tomorrow he should be back with the group and ready to go.’
Scott Carson is also in contention after recovering from a bug he picked up last weekend.
‘He fell sick at the last minute, his kids had a bug and he picked that up which knocked him out for a couple of days.’
In other injury related news, both Graham Dorrans and Jonas Olsson (throat bug), despite missing training yesterday, are expected to be fine for Monday.
‘Graham got a knock but when the players did a warm down, he wasn’t particularly suffering. The doctors are also quite confident Jonas’ illness is a very short term thing.’
If all goes well it means Roy will pretty much have a full squad to choose from as we attempt to put the Stokies to the sword.
