West Brom Man Gets MotM In A Game Dominated By Penalties

|

West Bromwich Albion’s clash with Derby County at Pride Park on Saturday afternoon was certainly an eventful affair.

Chances in the game were pretty evenly shared in reality as both sides played to a score draw, but Match Day Referee Gavin Ward was kept busy as we saw three penalty decisions across the 90 minutes, but having scored their effort from the spot six minutes in, Kenneth Zohore rammed his effort home six minutes from time to bring a point back with us.

The hosts did have a second penalty decision go their way but goalkeeper Sam Johnstone was equal to Waghorn’s second effort and given how key a moment in the game that became, statistics website Whoscored handed the 26-year-old their star man award for his performance, to take Man of the Match.

Completing the top five performers on the day were goalscorer Zohore (6.79), Matheus Pereira (6.71), Semi Ajayi (6.61) and Grady Diangana (6.60).

We slip a little off the pace in the Championship, but we remain unbeaten.
