With Nottingham Forest and Newcastle both dropping points today, West Brom have solidified their League position with their first win in four games.

It took us an hour to break down the Peterborough defence, striker Luke Moore firing in a shot from the edge of the area, after a penetrating Graham Dorrans run.

A headed own goal from Posh defender Ryan Bennett made it 2-0 to Albion just six minutes later.

This victory leaves us in second place, eight points behind Championship leaders Newcastle with a game in hand.

Next up is a trip to Scunthorpe on 28 December (3pm). Scunthorpe are lying four points clear of the relegation zone and, after defeat today against Middlesbrough, their confidence is low. Another win to go into the New Year looks likely.

Today’s team:

Kiely; Mattock, Olsson, Zuiverloon, Meite; Jara, Brunt, Thomas (Filipe Teixeira 70), Dorrans; Moore (Martis 90+2), Cox (Woods 78)
