Greening has tipped winger Zoltan Gera for a return to form as soon as his full fitness returns. Gera only has one goal this season but missed two weeks due to a groin injury. Greening told the official website: ‘Zoltan hasn’t been away due to injury and it will be a blow if we’re without him against the Gunners. So far this season he just hasn’t got going. He’s been really unlucky with loads of little injuries. Obviously, playing so many games hasn’t helped him and he’ll probably feel the benefits of a bit of a rest.’

Gera is a major doubt for West Brom’s home encounter with Arsenal because of his groin injury.

Kevin Campbell is also a doubt with an ankle injury. Robson is hoping he will be able to do some running this week in a race to be fit.

The Baggies reserves lost 2-1 to Wigan reserves. The Baggies score was thanks to Wigans Mike Pollitt’s own goal!

Robson says that Paul Robinson should be in contention for the England side but gets overlooked because of the Baggies poor form. ‘Paul Robinson is unlucky he didn’t get a spot when Ashley Cole was injured because he has been outstanding ever since I’ve been at this football club.’

Robson has assured former Blues player Darren Carter that he does have a role to play this season. ‘Darren has done okay so far this season and put in a couple of solid performances. He is still very much in my thoughts at this time. Both he and Richard Chaplow are still learning the game to a certain degree and they know they can improve. But the one thing both of them are doing is working very hard on the training pitch, which I am pleased about’

Neil Clement has told the official site that he is sure they will get out of trouble: ‘We’ve got a good group of lads here and we’re all disappointed when the results aren’t going our way,’ Re-assuring fans he says ‘We’ve got the players to get out of trouble and I’m sure we will.’

Robson has compiled a video tape of Inamoto’s games for the Baggies in an attempt to show him where he must improve. Robson still considers Inamoto as a possible key figure in midfield but has had to speak to the player in order to push him in the right direction.

Coventry are in talks with West Brom midfielder Andy Johnson with a view to a loan move.

Robson is said to be still tracking Stuttgarts Austrian international defender Martin Stranzl and could swoop in the January transfer window.
