Tamas To Lazio?

It’s being reported that Lazio have lodged an enquiry with the Baggies about taking Gabriel Tamas on a season long loan.

The Birmingham Mail state that the Italians are keen to take the Romanian international for the whole season and believe they stand a good chance of striking a deal given it appears Tamas has failed to impress Roy Hodgson since he joined the club.

With 3 years left on his contract, and no available suitors for a permanent move, a loan which removes him from our wage list plus a loan fee could be in the best interests of everybody at this stage, but as ever there are no direct quotes from either side but it does make sense given Roy has already brought in Gareth McAuley and Billy Jones, and obviously we have the returning Craig Dawson providing additional competition.

The Mail adds further negotiations will be held this week with a view to finalising the move, but that the loan fee is the current sticking point.
