Tamas completes Baggies switch

West Bromwich Albion have completed the permanent signing of Romanian centre back Gabriel Tamas from French side Auxerre for an undisclosed fee.

Tamas, 26, who spent the second half of last season on loan at The Hawthorns, is rumoured to have rejected a possible move to Scottish Premier League giants Celtic in favour of playing in the English Premiership with West Brom. Tamas was a key figure in helping the Black Country club in securing automatic promotion last term.

Tamas will be keen to add to his appearances and is said to be relishing the challenge of ensuring the Baggies survival in the top flight.
