Good news for Albion as today they announced a two-year extension to the current sponsorship deal with T-Mobile.

The Baggies have announced that this deal is the largest in the club’s history and that it eclipses the current deal that Albion hold with the mobile phone giants.

T-Mobile joined forces with the Baggies before last season’s Premier League campaign and supported Albion during the ‘Great Escape’.

T-Mobile threw their weight behind the campaign and caught the imagination of everyone connected to the club. They introduced fans survival packs to boost morale during the Baggies fight for survival.

This campaign has been nominated for two awards, the Hollis Sponsorship award and the Sports Industry Award.

The football juggling Mr Woo from the T-Mobile adverts even made a couple of appearances during the run in showcasing his skills in the middle of The Hawthorns pitch.

As an Albion fan this is great news, never in my time as a Baggies fan have I seen a sponsor get involved as much as T-Mobile.

Baggies supremo Jeremy Peace said, ‘Our relationship with T-Mobile has gone from strength to strength and had proved mutually beneficial.

‘The way T-Mobile got behind the team last season, particularly when a lot of people had written us off, was terrific.

‘We look forward to continuing to work with them on a range of activities which will benefit both parties and our supporters.’

T-Mobile’s head of sponsorship Toby Hester added, ‘There was never really any question that we would extend our agreement with the Albion.

‘It has been a hugely productive period for us and it is a pleasure to work so closely with such a professional and friendly club.

‘The fans are magnificent and I hope that we can continue to interact with them in a way that stands out and surprises them.’

T-Mobile are set to launch a new campaign for this season’s run in. The T-Mobile Supporter Squad will give Baggies fans the chance to experience match days a little differently.

Albion’s official website, www.wba.co.uk, will be choosing a winner before each home game allowing the chosen fan to go pitch-side before the game and also to feature in the match-day programme.

So get behind the team fellow Baggies it is going to be a bumpy ride until the end of the season and we all need to pull together.

To sum up, great news for Albion, T-Mobile is a giant multi-national company and their continued support can only be a good thing.

Let’s hope that we consolidate our position in the Premier League and that T-Mobile continues their great support.
