Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Lee Grant could be about to sign for Burnley after a fee was agreed this afternoon.

Grant was extensively scouted last season and he is one of the three keepers targeted by the Baggies. Boaz Myhill of Hull City and Preston’s Andy Lonergan being the other two.

After the failed bids for Andy Lonergan it seemed certain that the Baggies would move for Grant. They will now have to move quickly to secure Grant unless they decide to make another improved bid for Lonergan.

A move for Myhill is thought to be unlikely as has made it clear that he would only come to the club if he was guaranteed to be first choice. West Brom of course would not entertain this idea with club captain Scott Carson firmly the first team keeper.
