Steve Clarke has said that Markus Rosenberg is now 100% fit and ready to really kick start his Albion career.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of the Reading game – which could see Rosenberg starting – the head coach said of the Swede.

‘He’s 100% fit and he played in an U21 game on Sunday and his fitness is fine. He’s had to be patient but he’s quite intelligent and he knows that he’s been playing catch up since he came here. He also knows that the players who have been in the team have played very well. He continues to work hard in training and when he gets his chance he has to be ready to take it.’

Clarke explains that for all of those who want to be Odemwingie’s replacement, they have been training and battling hard and he feels whoever he selects will be ready to seize their chance.

The same applies to Chris Brunt, who Clarke believes will be a big player for us this season even though he’s been hampered by injury.

‘Chris is another one who had injury problems during pre season. The start was good and it meant that Chris didn’t have a place. It would only be problematic if Chris hadn’t accepted the situation, and he understands. He’s a terrific player and he knows he has to be patient and wait for his chance.’
