Report: West Brom plotting double summer raid on Championship club

|

West Brom are monitoring Sheffield Wednesday duo Morgan Fox and Steven Fletcher as they look at ways of improving their squad in the next window.

Key figures at Albion have revealed that they have used this enforced break to draw up a list of targets for the club and it appears the Owls pair are on the list. That’s after TEAMtalk claimed the Baggies are among the teams keeping tabs on 33-year-old Fletcher who is out of contract in the summer.

Despite Wednesday’s struggles this season, the striker, who previously played for Albion’s bitter rivals Wolves, has actually done well, scoring 13 goals in 26 games. Therefore, whilst the Yorkshire outfit want to keep Fletcher, a move could be on the cards, with the update stating that Burnley, Norwich, Bournemouth, Derby and Stoke are joining West Brom in trying to sign the player.

Bringing in a new number nine could be a priority for Slaven Bilic as Hal Robson-Kanu is the club’s top scorer with ten this season and it has been suggested that Kenneth Zohore could be on the move after an underwhelming first season at The Hawthorns.

Will West Brom be in the Premier League next season?

Yes

No

Meanwhile, the Premier League trio, along with Rangers, Middlesbrough and Albion are keen on Fox, with the 26-year-old left-back another who is out of contract at Hillsborough in the next month. Bringing in a left-back could be a target too, with Kieran Gibbs suffering from fitness problems a lot this season and there may be doubts as to how Connor Townsend could handle the step up to the top-flight.

Of course, a decision won’t be made by the pair until the season has finished and West Brom will hope to be a Premier League side by then which would help in negotiations.
