Report: Ex-England international hails “brilliant” and “immense” WBA man guiding club to the PL

|

Former Premier League midfielder Lee Hendrie has lavished Slaven Bilic with praise for the West Brom managed has done for the club this season as well as pushing the team into the position they currently find themselves in.

Sitting down with Football League World, the ex-England international revealed that he believes the Croatian manager has done a great job with the Baggies in his first year in charge at the Hawthorns, with Hendrie also praising how he has taken to life managing in the Championship after previously coaching the likes of West Ham and the Croatia national team.

Although West Brom dropped down to second in the standings this weekend, Albion still find themselves in a prime position to claim automatic promotion with just nine games of the Championship season left to play, and Hendrie believes that Bilic’s impact on the squad has played a big role in what has so far been a great campaign for the Baggies.

Will Slaven Bilic guide us back to the Premier League?

Yes

No

Hendrie later added: “He’s brought certain players who fit the bill for him and the style of play that he uses. To step-back into a Championship club and take on a West Brom side whose expectations to go up this season were high, Bilic has done an absolutely magnificent job.”The former Aston Villa man said: “Bilic has been brilliant, he really has. I’m good pals with Gareth Barry and we have this conversation quite a bit about what he [Bilic] is all about and he says he’s old school and he’s great around the lads. He’s been absolutely immense.”

West Brom came close to promotion last season in what was a turbulent year for the coaching staff, yet Bilic’s work this campaign has been nothing short of spectacular with the Baggies asserting themselves as one of the top teams in the division, and if Hendrie’s words are anything to go by, the Albion could well be on their way back to the Premier League.
