Steven Reid, fresh from his extended contract, has said he backs the board to find the right replacement for Roy Hodgson.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Reid said that losing Roy was a bitter blow for the squad, but that he backed the board to find the right candidate to build on the foundations that Hodgson laid and continue us moving forward in the right direction.

‘The lads and fans have got to have full trust in the board and Dan Ashworth that they pick the right man for the job. The last two appointments have been unbelievable, Roberto Di Matteo got promotion and now at Chelsea he’s taking them to an FA and Champions League final, and now Roy Hodgson is going to be the England manager. We don’t need to be concerned though, the players have developed and matured so we can continue how we’ve been doing over the last two years. We can continue establishing ourselves.’

Hughton remains favourite from what I can tell, but I’ll bet there are a few left field ideas floating around. We know Roy will be seeing the season out, so the real links and speculation will probably begin just prior to the last game.
