Steve Clarke will welcome back a number of players for the trip to Everton on Wednesday.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Clarke explained that Shane Long and Marc Antoine-Fortune both returned to training two days ago, and that Steven Reid is also well on the road to recovery after a set back following the injury he sustained against QPR.

With regards to Claudio Yacob’s shoulder injury, Clarke said it wasn’t serious.

‘It’s been good to have both Shane and Marco back and I’m pleased to report that Steven is also progressing well. Claudio was in a bit of discomfort but the injury isn’t as bad as we first feared. He’s suffered some bruising to his collarbone, it’s certainly not a long term problem.’

Shane Long has also taken time to thank the medical staff for their quick discovery of the real problem, which led to short a short lay off. He told wba.co.uk.

‘It’s nice to be back. It’s dragged on longer than I thought it would but I think the break this weekend has helped me out a bit. It gives me more time to get ready for Everton. I had a dead leg and it turned out to be a haematoma which can lead to hospitalisation. When to doc saw the lump, he was concerned and took another look. Fortunately, we got on top of it when we did.’
