Jonas Olsson has said that he believes our match against Wolves was the perfect preparation for the pressure our defence will be under when we face Stoke.

Speaking on wba.co.uk Olsson admitted Stoke will be a big test for us with how they lump balls into the box and play to their strengths of bulky forwards, but he’s hopeful that our back four will rise to the challenge and improve further on our recent Black Country derby display.

‘I thought we dealt quite well with Wolves, and they are quite direct aswell. That’s what it will be like against Stoke.’

Olsson certainly isn’t daunted by the test we will face on Monday, quite the opposite in fact, it’s those types of games he loves the most.

‘I actually enjoy defending that way, as a tall centre half, that is the kind of test you like.’

Depending on the side Pulis selects it’s possible Olsson could face off against Baggies target John Carew, who for some inexplicable reason choose the Potters over us. Olsson remains uninterested in all of that, and instead will just do his best to keep the onloan Villa forward quiet.

‘I don’t know what his reasons were for choosing Stoke, but for me it’s just about getting a result.’

It is most certainly all about the result, we have to go back to what, the 2003/2004 season for our last registered win.

That record certainly needs breaking just as much as we need the 3 points.
