No Grudges From Di Matteo

Robbie Di Matteo has said he holds no grudges over his departure from West Brom, he prefers to remember the good times he had with us.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game, Robbie explained that things have gone well for him, and for Albion since we parted company, so it’s difficult not to remember the good times. Certainly no grudges are held.

‘Look at where I’m sitting now, so I’m not so sure it was a bad thing. That’s football, that’s life. In a manager’s career you’re going to get the sack, it’s happened to everybody and it makes you stronger. So no grudges, no, not at all. I had a great time. The supporters were very kind to me. I can reflect on good memories there.’

Jonas Olsson has also gone on the record saying he was against the sacking of Robbie at the time, but he also concedes it’s worked out well for everybody.

‘I rate Roberto very highly. I was very clear when the club sacked him that I wasn’t in favour of it. I enjoyed working with him. But everything happens for a reason, for him, it turned out very good and, for us, it turned out well. We got Roy and really pushed on. It will be good to see him, but, we will be looking to keep going.’
