Mowbray Still Confident

West Brom boss Tony Mowbray refused to put the blame for the defeat against Norwich at the feet of his players or their performance on the pitch on Saturday.

The Baggies did everything but score in the game that saw Rob Earnshaw return to the Hawthorns and punish West Brom for not taking their chances.

In the last four matches the Baggies have picked up just one point and Mowbray knows that has to change and soon.

‘We need to start picking up points,” Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail.

‘It just seems to be the way things are going at the moment but I couldn’t knock them for their desire and endeavour. They are desperate to do well. But the ball is not going in the net at the moment.

‘The players are obviously not too happy, the dressing room is quiet and they are frustrated. But they are determined and we need to keep going. When the going gets tough you have to come together and I sense that mood in the dressing room.

‘We are all in this for the long run to take the club back into the Premier League. I am confident in my ability to get this club on the right track.

‘If we had not been creating chances we would have been questioning things but that is not the case.

‘I am still very, very confident that we will finish at the right end of the table.

‘We are still looking at the top two and we will keep pushing on.’
