Managers Reaction v Clarets

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Mowbray blamed his sides failure to deal with set pieces as they lost 3-2 at Burnley on Monday night.

Albion took a two goal lead as early as the eight minute after Jason Koumas and Nathan Ellington dispatched their efforts before Andy Gray pulled one back.

Paul McShane was sent off for seemingly heading James O’Connor when challenged for a header before Andy Gray pounced early in the second half to level for the Lancastrians.

And with just three minutes remaining substitute Chris McCann’s looping header found the back of the net to win the game for the Clarets.

Burnley boss Steve Cotterill was delighted win his sides victory;’We started the game and didn’t do anything we’d talked about for the first eight minutes.

‘I’ve said to them that we don’t need to be 2-0 down before we start responding against these sides.

‘We shouldn’t have given them as much respect as we did. After that we deserve credit for getting back into the game.’

Tony Mowbray had this to say; ‘Things went against us, but you have to accept that. Hopefully the officials will hold their hands up and say they got a few things wrong.

‘We lost three goals and we could make excuses, but we just failed to deal with set-pieces.

‘We have to take this on the chin, push on and win our next two games.’
