Former Watford, Sunderland and Aston Villa striker Kevin Phillips is planning to land a new deal with West Bromwich Albion.

Phillips, 34 is out of contract with the Hawthorns club at the end of this season and his free scoring this seasons hopes to lamnmd him an extended contract.

‘People keep asking me when I’m going to quit but I just want to keep going,’ Phillips told the Birmingham Mail. ‘As long as I stay fit and injury free, I just need someone to give me another contract after this one.

‘I’m hoping to hold talks with the club about another contract. But that’s entirely up to the club, it’s up to the manager (Mowbray) and chairman (Jeremy Peace).

‘I’m sure now’s not the time to be doing anything with important games coming up but I would talk.

‘All I want to do at the moment is score as many goals as I can and then I’m sure that will take care of itself.

‘As long as I’m enjoying it and playing at the level I want then I’ll keep playing as long as I can.’
