Keith Downing has said that Albion could have up to nine player’s out of tomorrow’s game against Liverpool in the Cup.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Albion obviously have Peter Odemwingie out suspended, and Jerome Thomas remains ruled out of contention with his knee issue.

Added to that James Morrison and Steven Reid both have hamstring issues, and Goran Popov is still a doubt with his groin problem.

‘We’ve got nine players out at the moment, including Peter. That’s obviously going to have some effect on our selection. We’re hopeful one or two will who are 50/50 will come through. But if there’s an element of doubt over any player I think they won’t play.’

Downing adds that Jerome is probably a week or two away from full training, but with the injury list as it stands players like Rosenberg, El Ghanassy, George Thorne etc, could really come into play this time round.

On loan Romelu Lukaku is eligible to play under the terms of his deal.
