Pablo Ibanez has completed a move from Atletico Madrid to West Brom and will officially become a Baggies player on 1st July.

The 28 year old is out of contract at the Madrid club and has opted seek regular first team football at The Hawthorns after making just seven appearances last season.

Head coach Roberto Di Matteo is confident that Pablo will add vital experience to the Premiership new boys defence.

Di Matteo told the clubs official website ‘Pablo has a great pedigree and is at a good age. He also played in the Champions League for Atletico and the World Cup for Spain so the Premier League should hold no fears for him.’

Pablo is the third free transfer this summer following the signings of Steven Reid and fellow centre back Gabriel Tamas from Blackburn Rovers and Auxerre respectively.
