“I Think You Have To Start Thinking About It” – Pundit Tips West Brom Target For The Top

|

Blackburn Rovers’ attacking midfielder Bradley Dack continues to go from strength to strength this season and it has been suggested that West Bromwich Albion failed in a reported £15million offer summer to gain his services and now plan to return in January with an improved offer.

The claim comes it seems from the Sun (October 7 P70) so how heavily it can be relied upon I don’t know given their track record for speculation, but it’s certainly gained traction this week in other outlets.

They suggest that we will return in the New Year with a potential £20million offer and make him our record signing, but again whether there’s truth to this – I doubt the Sun would know details such as that – or whether it simply puts 2+2 together based on reports that Leicester City will recall Harvey Barnes, that’s for readers to decide.

With the 24-year-old having played ten games so far this season for the newly promoted club and already returning eight goals, he’s a hot property and will undoubtedly be highly in demand and he’s definitely the sort of quality and age we should be looking at as plenty believe he will quickly adjust to the top-flight given his natural playing style and skills.

Former player Dean Ashton is one of those and he told the EFL On Quest’s highlights show on Saturday evening.

“I think you have to start thinking about it (Premier League quality). It’s not a fluke that he keeps ending up in the right place in the box. It’s great anticipation and there’s not actually that many players who have got that. So I think a lot of Premier League clubs will be looking at him.”

Praise has been high for the former Gillingham player all season long really and I’d rather see him at The Hawthorns turning out for us, as opposed to anyone else in the future if we can do a deal.
