I Doubt West Brom Were Expecting An Eight Goal Thriller From QPR Tie

|

Darren Moore’s West Bromwich Albion side hosted Steve McClaren’s Queens Park Rangers outfit at The Hawthorns earlier today as we continued our Championship campaign in 2018/19.

After a slow start to the season but signs that things were coming together for West Brom in recent matches, everything clicked today with a massive 7-1 victory delighting the fans in attendance.

Having dominated the whole match, Matt Phillips got the scoring underway in the 29th minute and he completed his brace late on in the game. Kieran Gibbs added our second after the halftime restart, Jay Rodriguez scored a brace from the penalty spot and Dwight Gayle and Hal Robson-Kanu also got themselves on the scoresheet in what became a phenomenal match.

I imagine QPR’s blushes following the game will match the colour of their shirts on the day, just a shame we couldn’t keep the clean sheet to really top things off but you can’t have everything.

It’ll certainly do confidence the world of good, that’s for sure.
