Roy Hodgson has been delighted with the response of the fans since he joined the club a few short games ago, but he was especially delighted to see the away boys rewarded with 3 points this weekend.

About 2800 fans took advantage of the free travel laid on by the club and made their way to the Stadium of Light for our dramatic 3-2 victory, and Roy was pleased to give them something to cheer about on the long journey home.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Hodgson explained that one of the enjoyable moments he’s experienced since joining the Baggies was the response and the support of the fans.

‘One of the things I really enjoy is th enormous support we get. Our travelling fans made a very noble effort at silencing almost 40,000 Sunderland fans – their joy and backing of the club would make it fantastic if we stop up this year. I’m sure they’ll feel they have played their part in helping us if we succeed in doing so.’
