The last time Albion kept ten clean sheets in a season was back under Bryan Robson in 2005-06, and Roy has loved seeing us improve at the back this term.

Speaking to wba.co.uk following the scoreless draw against Villa, Hodgson said.

‘It was an entertaining derby despite the 0-0 scoreline and I’m happy enough with the point and to get a clean sheet. It’s our tenth of the season, which is very good considering how difficult we found clean sheets to come by last season.’

Hodgson, like Jones, was quick to praise the efforts of our goalkeeper.

‘Ben did very well, he’s been very good of late. It’s our fifth clean sheet in six home games and he’s got a good understanding with the back four.’
