The Birmingham Mail are confirming that a club source has said that the deal for Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio’s in now hold and we are looking at other options after personal term talks stalled.

The 28 year old centre half is said to have passed a medical after a fee of £5million was agreed, but agreement on wages couldn’t be found, so the deal is now on ‘hold’ whilst we assess options and it’s expected that negotiations will restart after the weekend.

With plenty unclear on whether the move for Fazio was in anyway liked with Spurs’ pursuit of Saido Berahino, head coach Tony Pulis has earlier confirmed that the two deals were independent and ‘not at all linked’ in his pre game press conference, so whether this deal proceeds now depends on what our other options are presumably.
