Nathan Ellington scored for the Baggies in the game against Burnley on Saturday but still praised midfield man Jason Koumas for his part in the game.

Koumas played one of his best games for a long time after boosting his confidence in midweek with two goals for Wales.

He followed that up with the first of the team`s three on Saturday, netting his first goal since April 2004 for the club after just five minutes.

And then he put in an impressive display as Ellington and then Darren Carter put the Clarets to the sword.

‘Jason is very influential to the side,’ Ellington told the Birmingham Mail.

‘You can see that by what he creates but he’s starting to score now too. He’s a double figures guy and if he does that and keeps setting them up then he will be very important to the side.

‘You can see him in training. It was only a matter of time before he’d go on a roll.’
