It seems perfectly fitting that our match-winning goal scorers from Saturday’s FA cup victory over Huddersfield should commit to West Brom by signing new contracts.

Vital WBA player of last year, Graham Dorrans, has committed his future to the club with a second, and improved, contract within seven months.

The deal is for three-and-a-half years plus a further year’s option in the club’s favour.

Dorrans, has stepped in superbly to fill the shoes left by Jonathan Greening. His play is more attack-minded than Greening and this is evident by the number of goals he is getting from midfield. He’s currently the club’s joint top scorer with a tally of eight.

New Zealand international Chris Wood signed a new contract earlier in the week and celebrated by also helping the Baggies into the FA Cup fourth round.

The 18 year old striker has signed a three-and-a-half year deal, with a further year’s option. ‘I’m home’ he said, after the deal was penned.

On Saturday he came off the bench to score his second goal of the season and complete a 2-0 win at Huddersfield. This sets up a home tie with the winners of the replay between Plymouth and Newcastle.
