We travel to the impressive Ricoh Arena this weekend to take on a Coventry side currently sitting in 17th and looking to end a run of losing form.

From the press room

Assistant head coach Eddie Newton, standing in for the ill Roberto Di Matteo, announced at the press conference that that the injury situation was pretty much unchanged.

We can probably not expect to see either Roman Bednar nor Chris Brunt just yet; both players are still being monitored as they recover from back and calf injuries respectively.

Coventry Team News:

Coventry have been beaten by Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff since the international break and Chris Coleman is looking to turn things around on Saturday.

He told the club’s official website: “We know it’s going to be a tough one, but we still have a chance to rectify the last two disappointments.”

Player to watch: New signing may start

New signing from AFC Wimbledon, Chris Hussey, is tipped to start for Coventry on Saturday. The highly rated left-back could be up against Jerome Thomas in the battle of the flanks.

WBA Team News:

Both wingers and strikers are going to be the key to getting goals at the moment, especially if Bednar remains sidelined.

The management seem happy with the attacking options and Eddie Newton predicts that the missed opportunities from the last few games will soon be converted.

“One thing we’ve been looking at is that we’re creating on average 15 chances per game,” said Newton.

Given that we are the division’s second highest scorers he could well be right.

Player to watch: Jara is key

Even so, the player to watch is the VitalWBA favourite Gonzalo Jara.

Our Man of the Match on Tuesday, Jara looks impressive in midfield and confident at centre half. His possession play is very assured and he seems to have a creative vision that can quickly turn defensive play into dangerous counter-attack.
