Stoke City ran riot at the Hawthorns yesterday, scoring three goals inside the space of twenty two minutes to beat West Bromwich Albion 3-1.

Stoke City striker Ricardo Fuller was star of the show has he helped City to an away win thanks to a fantastic display and dent the promotion hopes of the home crowed.

Fuller netted the first goal of the game in what was an eight minute mayhem, he then saw his cross turn in by Jonathan Greening and set up the final goal for Jon Parkin.

Albion didn’t show much for their effort, only a 74th minute goal by Jason Koumas was all the Albion fans could take home.

However the Baggies were down and out as early as the 22nd minute when Jon Parkin, on loan from Hull City put the final nail in the Hawthorns coffin.

The home team’s defence were powerless to stop Fuller throughout the game, with Sam Sodje having a nightmare of a game.

With only five games remaining Albion could struggle to make the play-offs and are in a worse state having topped the table at the end of February. But since been in such a health position have been in free fall – picking up five points from just seven games.

Full got off the mark in the fourteenth minute, Sodje’s misplaced clearance let in the Jamaican international who had time to ease off the challenge of Paul Robinson and drill the ball home.

In the build up to the goal striker partner Mamady Sidebe was injured and was strechered off with Barnsley born striker Jonathan Parkin replacing him, and he made his presence known quickly.

Parkin pressured Greening when Fuller crossed from the left forcing the one time Manchester United trainee to bundle into his own net.

And, two minutes later went three goals to the good when Fuller repeated the trick, he held off Sodje and Paul McShane before unleashing a cross for the unmarked Parkin to find the net 12 yards out.

Albion were baffled and stunned by going down by three goals so early in the game, they collected thoughts at half-time and came back in the second with Nathan Ellington striking the bar from 25 yards out.

Sam Sodje headed wide and Koumas being denied by keeper Steve Simonsen before Koumas powered a deflected shot past the City shot-stopper to give the home crowed something to cheer about.
