Chris Brunt has hailed goalkeeper Scott Carson as the best keeper he’s played alongside as our stopper continues his bid to return to England’s starting lineup.

Speaking to wba.co.uk Brunt was full of praise for Carson’s heroics even though he had a bit of an up and down season.

‘Scott’s done well for us again this season, he came in for some stck, but since then he has done very well. Scott’s only 25 and potentially, he’s as good as any keeper I’ve played with or seen.’

Brunt also went on to shoulder some of the blame for Carson’s dip in form earlier in the season by adding.

‘I think Scott gets some unnecessary stick because of the amount of goals we concede. With the amount of shots he has to face, he’s going to let goals in. To be fair, we don’t really help him much!’

Thankfully that has been something Hodgson has been working on.
