Blackpool build up

The last time we tried this fixture there was snow all around. I’m not sure that things are going to look much different on Wednesday.

Blackppool Team News:

DJ Campbell has rejoined Blackpool on loan from Leicester in time to play whereas Neal Eardley remains a doubt after picking up a hamstring injury.

Player to watch: DJ Campbell

DJ Campbell – not a favourite at Leicester and could have a few points to prove.

West Brom Team News:

The big news is the international clearance of new signing, from Feyenoord, Andy Slory in time for the Wednesday night trip to Blackpool. He may not be match fit though as he hasn’t played a competitive match since before Christmas – winter break and all that.

Speaking on the BBC website Roberto Di Matteo gave some suggestion that Slory will give us attacking options on both the left and right sides or sitting behind the main striker. We would be interested to know what his stronger side is though, then we can get away from wingers having to cut inside onto their ‘good’ foot.

This new signing is all good stuff of course, but as leading scorers in the Championship we can’t really complain about attacking options. Let’s not forget that we could still use some quality defensive cover at left and right-back.

Recent news is that Teixeira is not available as he is off to Barnsley for a month long loan spell. Not even on the bench against Sheffield United, Tex will be looking to get some regular first team action.

Other than that, only Joe Mattock looks a doubt for The Seasiders game. He missed training through illness on Monday and will be assessed before the squad is named.

Player to watch: Jonas Olsson

Jonas Olsson – got involved in some unnecessary argy-bargy against Sheffield United but really has to be sharp against Blackpool. They are a very quick side and like to play attacking football.
