Berahino Still Going Nowhere

West Bromwich Albion are holding to the fact that Saido Berahino is not up for sale on January’s transfer deadline day.

The media are awash with links, and an apparent cash offer of £21 or £25million for the player from Newcastle United, but their ‘sources’ within the club continue to state that the England man is going nowhere and his future will be assessed over the summer.

Given his age and Academy graduate status the fact we would be entitled to compensation even if he ran his contract down and moved on a free hasn’t been missed either.

The only tweak in the story is Sky Sports have him leaving training early – and head coach Tony Pulis is elsewhere on ‘football related matters’ and hasn’t held training and nor will he be holding the pre game press conference ahead of the Swansea game either – but Sky report the club have said that Berahino left on a not related to a transfer basis, although no other explanation was given.

Easy to read into things today though isn’t it.
