West Brom wasted chances to kill this game against Derby County off after taking the lead. They didn`t take the chances and back came Derby to make sure they paid for their lack of quality in front of goal.

West Brom went home with nothing from this game but I`m not quite sure how, the Baggies dominated the game but couldn`t put away the chances that should have had Derby buried long before they decided to have a couple of shots on goal and win the game.

The Baggies only have themselves to blame and if they want to stay in with a shout of promotion then things have got to change quickly.

Things looked to be going well for West Brom when they took the lead through Richard Chaplow. It was his first goal of the season and he got it after rounding the keeper and then putting the ball into the net from six yards to send the Baggies on their way to what should have been a convincing victory.

Before that West Brom should have been in the lead when Curtis Davies put in an acrobatic overhead kick that crashed off the crossbar and Jason Koumas was willing to fire in a shot when he had the chance, he forced a good save from the keeper and then save a drive from 20 yards blocked by Michael Johnson.

He also had a corner flicked out from under the bar by the keeper when it looked like he had scored straight from the kick.

Also guilty of a bad miss was Zoltan Gera who latched onto a long ball from Hoult and should have scored but instead he fired his effort straight at the grateful Bywater.

The everbright Koumas then sent Diomansy Kamara though but he fired an effort into the side netting. Then it was Koumas` turn to be set up when Kamara sent a square ball to the midfielder but he fired over the bar when he should have at least tested the keeper.

Then the Rams woke up and Hoult had to be alert to come off this line tho smother the ball from Howard.
Then Oakley found the space to fire in a shot from 25 yards that flew into the top corner much to the enjoyment of the home fans.

Three minutes later and it was all over for the Baggies when Morten Bisgaard put in a cross that was met by the 18 year old Barnes who headed the ball into the corner and the Rams had completed a smash and grab raid.
