Dan Ashworth has praised the professionalism of both Peter Odemwingie and Youssouf Mulumbu as extended contract negotiations tick through.
Speaking to wba.co.uk Ashworth again reminded fans that both players are tied to the club regardless of a new deal being agreed, but he did seem optimistic that both would extend their spells and improve their contracts.
‘We’ve been in discussions with both players about extending and improving their contracts. They both did well for us last season and the club acknowledge that. Obviously we want to keep our best players. Both of them are under fairly long contracts and they have been extremely professional, hopefully we will come to a mutual agreement which all parties are happy with.’
Ashworth also confirmed that there had been no offers for Odemwingie despite all the speculation, but that there had been an enquiry for Mulumbu but nothing more.
