Another replay for the Baggies

For the second round in succession the Albion tried to coast having established a lead only to concede an equaliser in the last minutes to force a replay at Turf Moor.

Burnley went ahead when Graham Alexander scored from the spot, before a rocket from the in-form Koren and a deflected free-kick by the otherwise poor Kim gave the Baggies a lead going into half time.

Jonathan Greening picked what looked like a serious knock, and Valero was bought on in his place but was not hugely effective, however the makeshift centre back pairing of Donk and Pele looked good enough to see us into the next round.

Teixeira looks very fat and ceased to have any impact on the game from 15 minutes onwards, being replaced by Chris Brunt on 71 minutes.

Burnley plugged away against an Albion side short on ideas, and Martin Paterson turned in a cross in the last minute for a thoroughly deserved equaliser.

Very poor from the Albion against a team flattered by their recent run in the league cup – Burnley tried hard but looked ordinary at best. That said, Turf Moor will be difficult if we are to meet the winner of the Cardiff – Arsenal match in the next round.
