Roy Hodgson doesn’t care much for stats and records and he views our history with the Potters as a chance to prove everybody wrong, given we are the clear underdogs.

Speaking to wba.co.uk ahead of tonight’s clash, Hodgson said given everybody expects us to lose given we haven’t won on Stoke soil for 28 years, that the Baggies have nothing to lose and have no pressure on them, so we can go out there and play our game and look to cause a serious upset.

‘Stoke have had quite a good record in recent years, but I’m not superstitious about stats like that. They represent an opportunity, a chance to put it right.’

Hodgson adds that whether or not you can put it right is always another matter, but the record in itself doesn’t add pressure to his shoulders or change the way he’ll get the team to approach the match.

‘We’ve got nothing to lose, everyone expects us to return empty handed, so let’s go out there and prove them wrong.’

It’s certainly set up to be a good game tonight, a draw would be no means be a bad result, but hopefully we can pull it together and come away with all 3 points and a few reasons to celebrate before our next match.
