West Bromwich Albion are chasing defender Carl Hoefkens from Championship rivals Stoke City.
The Birmingham Mail suggest that Albion boss Tony Mowbray is keen to sign the Belgian internetional who would look likely to be a replacement for Curtis Davies who looks set on a move to the Premier League.
It is believed that the Britannia Stadium club would be reluctant to sell; but if an offer was high enough they may fell obliged to accept.
